For the love of karaoke

Here are some of the songs I sang at an epic karaoke session tonight:

My Chemical Romance – “I’m Not Okay”

Judy and Mary – “Sobakasu”

Oda Kazumasa “Kira Kira”

Kiroro – “Best Friend”

  1. Nothing dates foreigners in Japan quite like our choice of Japanese songs for karaoke:

    Judy and Mary – 1996
    Kiroro – 2001
    Kazumasa Oda – 2002

  2. Yeah, choosing “Kira Kira” as your Oda song is probably bad form.

If you want to chick points as well as oyaji points, you have to go for stuff from the Off Course catalog (or at the latest, the tune from Tokyo Love Story). The amount of oyaji points awarded drops off dramatically at “Woh Woh”.

Okay, I’m done talking out of my arse.

Points to you for singing Judy and Mary. I don’t know a single song…

Hmmm. Judging by some of the ones I “sing” at karaoke, I have been here since the Taisho period….
