Qingdao also apparently has painted manhole covers, in fact they look almost identical to the ones in Saitama. I wonder if they aren’t likely sourced from the same vendor. Probably not much of a market for manhole covers so one company probably has a near monopoly.

Was the manhole cover truly made of metal, or was it made of nice plastic that would double as a wingback chair and goes for $19.95 *inside* the Ikea?
