Fortune cookie is the highlight of a Chinese-American meal.
Tasteless cardboard after a greasy meal is way better than a sugar laden ending. plus, fortune is usually concealed in inconspicuous modesty.

A search for "whale taste" produced exactly one post that I'd written, in which I present absolutely no opinion on what whale might taste like.
<a href="http://www.mutantfrog.com/2006/06/28/two-articles-on-whale-in-school-lunches/" rel="nofollow">http://www.mutantfrog.com/2006/06/28/two-articles-on-whale-in-school-lunches/
</a>

I hope you're not trying to tell me you thing fortune cookies are delicious!

Don't you be knocking Yatsuhashi mate. The good Kyoto ones are far from flavourless, with a rich cinnamon taste. The nama ones are even better - my wife is addicted to the ones you can get with just the skin, not the filling, and every time I am in Kyoto I don't even need to ask what she wants me to get.

Never had a fortune cookie myself - I think they're US only or something.
