I know you’re busy, Mr. Abe, but…

Update your website!!!!

(As of the evening of Oct 2, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s website still indicated that he was still Chief Cabinet Secretary and was still trying to use some sort of DOS prompt to “./configure –with-passion=/home/abe/blood”. Blood?)

Hopefully his people are just too busy gearing up to make Abe the first world leader to offer a regular podcast… or a mixi profile?

  1. I’m fairly sure that’s some sort of UNIX-based shell prompt…

And don’t forget he wants to “make proud_japan ; make check”. Apparently all Japan needs is a recompile.

  2. Yeah, that’s a *nix CLI of some kind. Interesting that he’s got such geek-worthy imagery on the site when his web monkeys can’t even put a CHARSET declaration in the pages to keep them from showing up as gibberish.

  3. Yes, it’s a Unix command line (which could well be executed on his OSX mac :-). It depicts downloading a program from a remote location, compiling it, installing it, and running it. It’s actually a fairly accurate sequence of commands.
