The conversation reminds me of old panda hugger Orvil Shell's book"Virtual Tibet",criticizing Ameica's confused celebs and popculture describes Tibet as idealistic shangri-la.But he fails to mention why Tibet was outcasted from real important circles like UN or Davos meeting thanks to Beijing and Dalai Lama could only gains Richard Gere as an ally.Shell also fails to mention he too was the believer of the illusion of the distant land.Virtual China as Mao's paradise and passionately support Iris Chang and calling Japan a parriah state.

No offense, but whatever your opinion of George W. Bush himself, it's unrealistic and naive to think that meeting with the president of the United States and getting the support of Congress can't be helpful to his cause.

Now the Dalai Lama is meeting with Bush. Why on earth would the Dalai Lama, who is widely acclaimed as a man of peace, lower himself by shaking hands with the world’s biggest warmonger, war criminal, the Butcher of Baghdad and Fallujah, George W. Bush? I just lost any shred of respect I had for the Dalai Lama.
