They're usually on tour and can make millions pimping out their names for events where they just blather on about not much of anything. Then the school can pat itself on the back for being "prestigious" enough to "attract" such big names. Donald Kay (a UN weapons inspector hand-picked by President Bush), Gorbachev, Alan Keyes, James Carville, and Newt Gingrich all came to my college that way. Maybe charging admission is a better idea so then I can actually decide whether it's worth my money to see some famous person rather than being forced to pay by some idiotic student government who has taken my tuition money hostage.
