Lived in Japan? Use GREE to find people you met there!March 23rd, 2005 by Adamu |

A friend recently turned me on to GREE, a kind of Japanese Friendster. Like Friendster, you can use the site to register friends, hobbies, alma maters (almas mater?) or whatever. Another great feature is that it lets you run your blog’s RSS feed through the site, which I have done. You need an invitation to join, so anyone who’s lived in Japan, reads Japanese reasonably well, and wants an invite can feel free to ask me for one. Enjoy!

No luck for me yet, and I spent close to four years in Japan. Alas…

Gree’s pretty cool and I’m on gree if you’d like to link up. But Mixi.jp is MUCH more popular. Let me know if you want an invite into Mixi.

OK, I was going to send invitations, but then I thought “Hey, isn’t the whole point of this site to get an invitation from your FRIENDS?!”
If you don’t have any friends, then what other purpose could you have to use GREE than to stalk unsuspecting Japanese women? I say none, so NO INVITATIONS FOR ANYONE I DON’T KNOW

I already said NO INVITATIONS! Stop trying to buck the system.
I mean I think your name is cool and all, Putrid Namacha (I was never a fan of the really strong green tea), but still I’m gonna have to say NO!

[...] We thought GREE was cool as hell a year and a half ago, and now we just look at it and laugh at its lameness. [...]
