The last thing I want to do is alienate my Catholic readers. So Catholics, please look away now:
This guy stands outside the Vatican Embassy (Across the street from the Naval Observatory, home of the World Clock, on Massachusetts Avenue) almost every day protesting the Catholic church’s “culture of pedophilia“. The reaction is mostly positive because really, how can you defend that kind of behavior? One guy I saw before was pretty angry with him though. I guess he must have been Catholic.
I’ve talked to him briefly a couple times as I walked by. He says he was a victim years ago and it ruined his life. Today I realized his accent was foreign instead of just nerdy, so next time I see him I’ll have to ask where he’s from.

This is an old blog article, but it was linked from a new update (Dec. 2009). By coincidence, there was a relevant article in the news this weekend about a 1993 admission from RC Archbishop of Milwaukee that he “routinely shredded copies of weekly reports about sexual abuse by priests”. The documents surfaced during research related to civil suits against the church in Milwaukee.
